Asset Library and Portrait Assets

What the Asset Library Is For

The asset library stores images, videos, and audio that are reused during creation. After creating groups by purpose, you can quickly reference them in the workspace, the Creation canvas, and short dramas, avoiding repeated uploads of the same file. Asset names, groups, and statuses help you confirm which asset a reference currently points to.

Virtual Character Asset Library

The virtual character asset library is suitable for storing AI-generated characters, character artwork, character reference images, and brand image assets. It is recommended to create groups by character or project, for example "Brand Protagonist" or "Spring Product Images".

Open "Asset Library Management" and click "New Group";

Select "Virtual Portrait"; the name can be left empty (when left empty, the platform names it automatically in a format such as "Virtual Portrait Asset 09-11 21:05");

Within the group, click "Upload Image" to select a local image directly, or use "Submit Asset" to fill in a publicly accessible HTTPS image address;

Confirm the group and submit; if the asset name is left empty, it is named automatically from the file name;

Reference the asset in the creation input box, in the Creation canvas, or in a short drama project.

It is recommended to save only the assets you will actually use later, and to use recognizable group names. Before deleting or replacing an asset, first confirm that it is not referenced by an in-progress project.

Portrait Asset Library

The portrait asset library is used to manage portrait material for models that support this capability. When an asset involves a real person, that person must complete face capture and authorization on a mobile phone themselves; ordinary uploads cannot replace liveness-based authorization.

Click "New Group" and select "Portrait Asset Library";

Read and check the authorization agreement, then generate a QR code;

The person themselves scans the code with a mobile phone to complete capture, authorization, and profile entry;

Return to the web page and click "Scan complete, start sync";

The page displays the portrait group and the assets produced by the capture; if they are still processing, refresh later.

After capture is complete, the material may still be processing. In that case, keep the current group and refresh later; do not create the same portrait group again or repeat the capture. Whether portrait material can be used depends on the authorization result, the processing result, and current model capabilities. If creating an authorization session reports that it is temporarily unavailable, keep the message and contact platform support.

Using Reference Assets in Videos

  • For images you need to reuse long-term, add them to the library first and wait until the status is "Available" before referencing them;
  • For images needed only temporarily for this video, upload them directly in the video input box;
  • When you need portrait capabilities, reference only portrait assets that already show as available;
  • First/last frame mode requires a separate first frame and last frame; the two images cannot use the same asset.

Assets Only Need to Be Added to the Library Once

You do not need to create separate groups or upload assets for each model, nor do you need to specify "which model's asset library to put it in" when submitting:

  • When added, an asset enters the platform's unified asset library, and every model that supports asset references uses the same copy directly;
  • Therefore the same asset can be reused directly across multiple models, without repeated uploads or repeated review, and it does not become invalid because you switch models;
  • Once the asset status becomes "Available", it can be used in any model that supports asset references, without waiting for the model side to prepare it again.

Existing assets created before this are prepared once by the platform when a model first references them; after preparation they behave the same as directly referenced assets.

For the correspondence between models and the asset library, see Asset Library API.

Asset Behavior After Switching Models

Virtual assets are shared across all models that support asset references; after switching models, continue using the same asset ID.

Portrait assets are different: they can only be used with models for which the platform explicitly supports the portrait asset library, and they cannot be automatically turned into ordinary reference images on unsupported models. When switching to an unsupported model, use another virtual asset instead, or switch back to a model that supports portrait assets.

Processing After Upload

Upload completion does not mean every model can immediately use the asset. Check the status and failure message on the asset card first:

When "Uploading" or "Processing" is shown, keep the page open and wait for the status to update;

After "Available" is shown, reference it in models that support reference assets;

When "Failed" is shown, read the specific error on the page first; file format, size, authorization, or processing failures can all make an asset unavailable;

Modify the file or authorization material and upload again; do not repeatedly submit the same failed item.

If a video reports "Failed to read the reference image", first confirm that the asset status is available; for temporarily uploaded assets, reselect the original file and submit again. Do not use a browser's local file path as an API parameter.

Asset Library Management Operations

Operations in "Asset Library Management" sync to the asset service in real time; no separate sync click is needed:

  • Asset groups: create, edit name and description, delete; before deleting, move or delete the assets in the group first;
  • Assets: submit (you can fill in a public HTTPS address or upload an image directly), rename, refresh status, delete; renaming also updates the name in the asset service;
  • List information: asset ID, group, asset name, asset type, model, preview, status, error message, creation time, update time; "Update time" is the time of the most recent sync with the asset service;
  • Model: each group and asset is labeled with the models it will be used for; when an asset is used for multiple models, multiple labels are shown;
  • Filter by model: you can select a model above the list to show only the groups and assets that will be used for that model;
  • Search: there is a search box above both the group list and the asset list, letting you filter quickly by name or ID;
  • Pagination: the group list and asset list load in pages (20 items per page), with the total count shown at the bottom and page navigation;
  • Refresh: re-read the names, statuses, error messages, and access addresses of groups and assets.
